Hello readers. In case you didn't know, I was in the emergency room from 7:30 P.M. to 4:30 A.M. last night. I am so exhausted right now, but I ordered some pasta and Greek salad and I'm waiting for it to come with high expectations. The ER was hell. I got there at 7:30. My friend Mojan took me after devotionals. I have to mention that he was so sweet to stay with me until about quarter to midnight. I waited for over an hour to be seen by the nurse. Then I waited for half an hour to be seen by the doctor. He immediately said he was going to give me an antibiotic and an antiinflamatory. Well, each was a shot so the nurse did one in each arm. Instantly, I felt hazy and like I was on another planet again. Also, my throat constricted and my breathing became difficult. They kept saying my oxygen was normal and so was my blood pressure and heart rate. It still was painful. My headache never went away. They he gave me motrin. Ha! He said it would enhance the narcotic. Well, it wasn't doing anything. They then gave me a CT Scan. It came back normal. He said he couldn't do anything more for me except prescribe Vicodin. Well, that sent any part of the headache that had subsided rushing back at me with full force. Then I was discharged immediately. I was driven home in an ambulance. They did that with all the blind people. I wasn't the only one although I was the one that wasn't abusing the system. The guy near me was also blind and he was there for the tenth time in two months to get narcotics because he wouldn't look in the big book for a medical doctor that takes his insurance. Either he's married to a blind woman or he's really lazy. Based on the fact that he gets SSI and is on Medical at the age of forty-something, those are the two most feasible options. In any case, he got the nurses to do what he wanted by sweet talking them. "Hey sweet baby" or "Hey beautiful" were his standard greetings. Well, he asked them in that smooth operator voice to call him an ambulance to take him home. They did that for him. So, I was discharged right after and I asked if they could call me one too. I said I had no problem paying for a taxi. I think I made that too clear because he had just left and I was irritated with the stereotypes. So she called me an ambulance and the driver and his assistant were really nice guys. They lifted me onto a bed/chair thing and put me on a stretcher and took me to the ambulance. I got home and they rolled me to the steps. I almost fell down the steps but they helped me get up. Needless to say, I stayed home from work today. I feel bad because they're really short-staffed today because another teacher is still out and there were no assistants, but I just couldn't handle it. So, I'm gonna go and wait patiently for my salad and spaghetti.
